How it works

You do the asking. We make it clear what to ask, who to ask, and when.

Fix My Name Online is a set of free tools you use yourself. Here’s what happens at each step, and what we do and don’t do.

  1. Tell us what you found

Pick the kind of result: an old news story, a people-search listing, a fake profile, a court record, a review or a photo. Then answer three to five quick questions. We don’t need your name or email, and we don’t search for you.

  2. Get your plan

Your plan says who decides, what to ask for, the order to do things in, and roughly how long each step takes. It includes a letter you can edit and the official forms for your country.

  3. Send it yourself

You copy or download the letter and send it, or fill in the official form. We never contact a publisher, a platform or Google for you.

  4. Keep track

Add the plan to your tracker, set a check-back date and update the status as things happen. A “no” is a normal outcome, and the plan tells you what to try next.
