Check what shows up
Search your full name, role, business, location, previous roles, reviews and words like “complaint”. The issue may be one bad result, or simply very little accurate, current information.
Decide what can be public
Use only true information you’re happy to share: biography, services, credentials, current projects, media context, business pages and ways to contact you.
Deal with sensitive results privately
Old articles, disputes, legal mentions, complaints or review attacks need careful evidence and wording. If it’s a legal question, such as defamation, talk to a lawyer.
Keep your own profiles current
A clear bio, an up-to-date work profile, your business page and anything you’ve genuinely written or been interviewed for. Keep them true and consistent.
Check back over time
Search your name, business, role and location every month or two and note what has changed. Changes take time, and no one controls where a result appears.

Does this apply if I’m not well known?
Yes. The same steps work for anyone who gets searched before people decide to trust them: employees, sole traders, consultants and business owners.
Will my profiles look like a clean-up job?
Not if they’re genuine. Keep them natural, true and useful, rather than lots of thin new pages at once.
Can anyone guarantee page one?
No. Search engines decide what shows and in what order, and anyone who promises a ranking is guessing.
