Start with what people actually type
Search your full name, old names, nicknames, suburb, business and image results. The damaging result may only appear for one combination, but that one can still affect work, relationships or money.
Keep private things private
You don’t have to explain your history in public. Accurate, current information, such as a work profile or a short bio, often helps more.
Check which routes fit before you write
Some pages can be corrected by the publisher, reported to a platform, or refreshed in Google once they change. Others can’t. Knowing which applies keeps your request specific and stops you making claims that don’t fit.
Check back now and then
Search your name again every month or two, including images and news. Note what has changed. Changes in Google can take weeks after a page is updated.
