Search more than your exact name
Problems often show up for your name plus a suburb, a job title, a business name, an old name, or words like “review” or “complaint”. Keep a short list of the searches a stranger might try, and check images and news too.

Note the date, the search, and the first page of results. Next time, you can see at a glance what’s new or what has changed.
Use free alert tools
Google Alerts can email you when new pages mention your name. Google’s “Results about you” tool can tell you about new results showing your phone number, email or home address, where it’s available.
Decide what, if anything, to do
Most new results need nothing. If one is wrong, out of date or breaks a platform’s rules, the free check gives you the steps, a letter and the official forms for that kind of result.

Does Fix My Name Online offer alerts?
We offer NameWatch alerts, but new sign-ups are paused while we rebuild it. If you already subscribe, your alerts carry on. You can join the waitlist for one email when it’s back. In the meantime, Google Alerts and “Results about you” are free.
Does keeping an eye on things remove results?
No. It just helps you notice changes sooner. Removing or correcting anything is decided by the website, the platform or Google, and any request is one you send yourself.
